Hello! Thank you for considering me to create some beautiful images of your family for you. It is so important to have these days documented, have your stories told and to be in the frames with those who you love most.
I’ve created this to help provide you with as much information as I can, so you know what to expect and to answer some of the questions you may have about doing a session with me.
If you haven’t yet, you can read a bit more about me and my love for preserving our stories here.

Scheduling your session
To book your session with me, first decide the package/type of session that would suit your family. It’s great to have a longer session when in home or when you are wanting to document the new arrival to your family. Keep this in mind when choosing the package you are wanting.
A copy of the quote for the session, agreement, pre session questionnaire have been provided to you in your Client portal.
To secure your session date, the signed agreement and your booking deposit of $250 is due. This reserves that date for your session to occur and the remainder is due 7 days prior to your session.
Once your session is confirmed, we can progress to discussing suitable locations if you haven’t already decided and we can discuss any creative ideas we may have for your session.
Where should we have our session?
You can choose to have your session in home or at an outdoor location. Choose a location that best suits your family and the look of the photos you want to achieve.
If you are after a carefree morning at home then let’s hang out in your loungeroom, watch your babes jump on their beds and cuddle together. If you are welcoming a new baby to the family, the family home is a beautiful and sentimental way to document this time. Walk through your home in the morning and early afternoon and look at the light coming through the windows in the rooms you would like to use. Take note of which time of day it is at it’s best. This will help determine if these rooms are suitable and if a morning or afternoon session will be better.
In home sessions are more personal as this is the place you spend all of your time together, the place you nurture and love for your babes and embodies so much of your story.
If your family loves the fresh air, adventures and sunsets then maybe an outdoor session is the one for you. Choose a location you like to frequent with your family or one that has meaning to you all. The beach is beautiful at sunset there are so many beautiful locations around Perth that cater for those who like a moodier look, open grassy fields, white open beaches or those who like to dip their toes at the river.
Trigg, City Beach, Fremantle have beautiful beaches which are great for sessions. The Swan Valley has beautiful grassy fields and meadows which look beautiful at the end of Summer and early Spring.
The river along Matilda Bay, Mosman Park and Bicton all have beautiful beaches and coves to explore. One way travel of 30kms from Guildford 6055 is included in all of my packages and we can discuss travel outside of this range.
Deciding what to do with your images from your session can also help you to choose a location. If you want to have a prints hung in your home from the session and your home is light and bright then pick a location to suit that.
What times and days are sessions held?
Outdoor sessions are always held during golden hour which is the first hour after sunrise and last hour before sunset. The golden light that is provided during that time gives a beautiful glow in your images.
In home sessions can be scheduled for the morning or afternoon. Usually around 10am and 2pm. This is dependant on the natural lighting available in the rooms of your home that you wish to use for your session. We can also work around nap times if need be!
When do I need to book?
Weekend session dates fill up fast, especially in the summer months. I suggest always booking at least a month or two in advance, especially if you have a date in mind or a special event or anniversary you want to be documented.
If you’re wanting to book a maternity session, I suggest doing it between 28-35 weeks pregnant. For newborn sessions, I suggest holding them within the first two weeks of bubs arrival so we can capture those tiny details before they change. We can pencil in a session date and when your new babe arrives we can re confirm or move the session if needed .
Preparing for the session & session day
Once we have a session date, time and location confirmed, I will provide you with a link to the Client prep guide which will help you decide on what to wear, tips for the kids, what to bring etc. If you need any further help or info, please just send me an email and we can work through it or I can give you a call. A few days before our session is scheduled, I’ll reach out to confirm our time and location and discuss the weather if need be!
The day of the session, please block off 1-1.5 hours. Typically 1 hour for an outdoor family session is more than sufficient with a break during the session.
For an in home session please block out approximately 1.5 hours for the session. I like to meet everyone in the family first and make sure kids are at ease with me being there. I also like to walk through your home with you and go over the rooms you would like to use. If you have an unsettled baby or kids, we always have time up our sleeve to work through it. I’ve got 2 babes myself so I understand sometimes they just need a break!
There are no rules to these sessions; if you want to have a family picnic at the beach and go for a swim then do it! Have a beer or wine whilst enjoying the sunset and snuggling your babes on a rug – fine by me! If you want to make pancakes or jump on the beds at home…that works too! Your family is unique so let’s make sure your session focuses on that.

After the session
I like to share a preview of one of the photos taken within 1 week from your session and I try to deliver galleries within 3 weeks from the session date, which will be sent to you via email.
I never want you to forget these moments that you have right now. The beautiful simple moments like butterfly kisses, their details and features, the feeling of their hug. Let’s tell your story.
